This is the date that was recently listed in the Hedingham newsletter.

We were going to change it October 4, for a variety of reasons, but since many of our residents have begun to make arrangements for September 6, we’ve decided just to leave it where it is.

New Nursery Hours:

Is your chili so hot it can peel paint off the walls? If you take chili to a potluck does it disappear before you save some for yourself? Think you make the best Chili in Hedingham? Now’s your chance to prove it.

At this year’s Fall Festival (October 18th) we’re going to have a chili cookoff. The cookoff is open to any Hedingham resident. Right now the rules are still a little up in the air, but we’re basing them off the rules for the Chili Appreciation Society International (No, I didn’t make that up). We’ll need to have a certain amount of interest to pull this off, so we’re going to start right now.

If you’d like to run for the Board of Directors for the coming year all you have to do is fill out a copy of the Hedingham Election Questionnaire and turn it into the desk at the Athletic Center.

Because July 4th falls on a Friday this year our curbside trash service will come by on Saturday, July 5th. So leave your trash out Friday night.

This email is to inform you that the Raleigh Police Department FOCUS bus will be parked near the entrance of your community next week. The intent of this measure is to accomplish the following:

* To present a strong police presence as you enter the subdivision.
* To strengthen the relationship between the police department and the community.
* To provide a meeting place to discuss specific issues, ask questions and make comments.
* To endorse and promote the Community Watch Program in your community.

If all goes according to plan, the bus will be in the area from Tuesday, April 22 through Sunday, April 27th. I will be on the bus to meet the residents of your fine community. My hours will vary from approx 8am through 8pm. These plans/hours are subject to change but I will update you if any conflicts arise. I will be in the bus throughout the day but will periodically to handle additional responsibilities assigned to me. If someone stops by and I am away they can call me on my cell phone (919) 427-3932 and I will give them an ETA of when I will return.

Please contact your neighbors immediately and inform them of this information. They can feel free to stop by, ask questions and personally have their concerns listened to. I obtained your email from the Hedingham website. Please feel free to forward this email to all residents of Hedingham !

April 19^th is the annual Spring Yard Sale in Hedingham, from 8AM to NOON!!  Your cousin’s bedspread you can toss, but don’t want either?  SELL IT!!  Remember those old dishes you haven’t used in 5 years?  SELL THEM!!  Time to rid your garage’s, closets, basements & attics of all your old unwanted stuff & let someone else treasure it!  In the event of rain, the date will be April 26^th. 

Our May meeting is 5/13/08 at 10AM at the Willow Oak Clubhouse.

There will be voter registrations up at the Hedingham Athletic Center. Please make sure to bring your ID (Drivers License,Passport, Social Security Card, etc).

We have arranged for CPI to come make a presentation on safety and security. I will also be asking for volunteers to be Block Captains as well as District Captains.

We really need to start getting this together, assigning all of the posts & such. We’ve had great turn-outs at the meetings thus far…now lets get this plan into action!
